I am honoured to announce that I have accepted the position of Chair for Children for Health. Having served as a Trustee since 2022, I am thrilled to transition into this leadership role at a pivotal time for the organisation.
As a lifelong educator and researcher, my work is rooted in the belief that child-initiated musical play and respectful intervention are transformative for both children and their communities. My work has been inspired by Clare Hanbury, founder and former CEO. As Chair I intend to expand her vision of children as health change agents, and to give them a stronger in an increasingly complex world.
New chapters in Children for Health are already unfolding under the extraordinary energy, knowledge and expertise of Lilanga Hasini Batawalage, a woman I am privileged to walk alongside. I pay tribute to our dedicated Board of Trustee, some of whom are embarking on the next chapter of Children for Health. Each one brings decades of relevant experience and specialism to our charity.
Children for Health may be small, but its resources are outstanding and our health colleagues in communities around the world committed to a shared vision. Together, we will scale our impact and mission to empower babies, children and young people as informed, supportive agents of change.
